Day One at SHOT Show 2009
We arrived early to see day one of the 2009 SHOT Show in Orlando,
Florida
|
Monday morning we arrived at the show before the shuttle busses started
running so we could get started with the coverage ASAP
|
The Orange County Convention Center was new to our crew since we've always
attended SHOT in Las Vegas..
but we quickly learned it's easy (but
large)

There were many exciting Glock pistol developments this year including
a new texture made by Glock for the Glock G22 which is also a G22 RTF2.
Ka-Bar also introduced a pistol bayonet on a blue Glock 22. Several Glock
suppressors also on display

Expect the first shipments by February 2009
RFB stands for Rifle Forward ejection Bullpup. This concept, enhanced
by an improved tilting block breech, achieves over a foot of additional
barrel at equal total weapon length.Furthermore, the stock and mechanism
cross-section is similar to a conventional rifle, in stark contrast to
existing bullpup rifles. The breech is separated from the shooters face
by two layers of 1.6 mm steel, with gas expansion directed downwards.
The RFB is a gas-operated semi-automatic
rifle in 7.62 mm NATO caliber. It accepts standard FAL type magazines.
Barrels vary from 18” to
32”.
All controls are fully ambidextrous, the reciprocating operating handle
can be switched to either side. The trigger mechanism has up to five individual
adjustment . The safety disconnects the trigger and blocks the hammer action.
A MilSpec picatinny rail is attached rigidly to the barrel. No open sights
are provided. A free floating, four sided picatinny forend or bipod can
be attached directly to the barrel at the base of oscillation.

I'm sure few reports will be generated on the P3AT because so many new pocket
.380s are hitting the market..but KelTec should have some solice that most
of the 'new' pocket .380s compare themselves to the P3AT as the standard
to compete with.

This is a demo Keltec P-11 pistol in 9mm. It's yellow color is a prototype
and not available for sale, but as a fan of colored firearms, I was given
permission to take a few pics

An interesting AK related item that caught my eye was this 'AK upper'
and stock for the AR15.

but looks like an AK stock
